A set of Quick Pick numbers led a Missouri Powerball player to win a $50,000 prize on a ticket he purchased at Stadium 66, 807 Stadium Blvd., in Jefferson City. The lucky ticket was purchased for the Saturday, Sept. 6, drawing – which also awarded two additional prizes of $50,000 and a jackpot prize of $893.5 million to Missouri Lottery players.

The  morning after the drawing, the Cole County player and his fiancée were checking the winning numbers against his ticket when they discovered it matched four of the five white-ball numbers drawn – 11, 23, 44, 61, 62 – as well as the Powerball number of 17.

“She was reading them off and my eyes started to light up a little. I didn’t believe I won that much,” he chuckled. “I took the ticket to two different gas stations to check it. The clerk said, ‘Yeah, man. You won 50 grand!’”

The winner shared plans to use some of the money toward their wedding.

Powerball is a multistate Draw Game with drawings held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m. Saturday’s estimated jackpot is $50 Million.
