A Missouri Lottery player in Wentzville who uncovered a $50,000 top prize on a “Crossword Plus” Scratchers ticket relied on her family to confirm her big win.

“My son counted the number of words I matched and then went and got my daughter. She wrote down all the words. I sent a picture to my mom and she counted it,” the winner laughed. 

She purchased the winning ticket at QuikTrip, 55 Wentzville Parkway, in Wentzville.

“It’s definitely a shock,” she added.

When asked how she planned to spend her winnings, she shared, “Nothing crazy or big. We’re kind of boring.”

To date, players have won more than $11.8 million in prizes in the “Crossword Plus” Scratchers game, with more than $3.8 million in prizes yet to be claimed – including three additional top prizes of $50,000.

In FY24, St. Charles County players won more than $68.2 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $6.4 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $16.5 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the city.
