A Missouri Lottery player got a big surprise when she discovered the “Gold Rush” Scratchers ticket she purchased at Express Stop, 1821 W. Grand St. in Springfield, contained one of the game’s $50,000 prizes. 

“I was stunned, just shocked!” the winner said. “I just kind of randomly picked it out.”

She told her boyfriend right away, and he shared in her surprise. 

“He was just like, ‘No way!’” she said. 

Since “Gold Rush” began on July 28, players have won over $11.6 million in prizes. Over $23.5 million remain in unclaimed prizes, including one top prize of $1 million and three additional prizes of $50,000. 

Players who purchased tickets in Greene County last fiscal year won more than $41.7 million in total Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers received more than $4 million in commissions and bonuses, and education programs in the county received more than $15.9 million in appropriated Lottery proceeds.
